Nursery care is available during our morning worship services and serves children newborn through age 2-1/2.
This ministry to our youngest ones is exciting and vital -- a launching pad for nurturing the faith of the next generation. We utilize a curriculum (A Sure Foundation: The Fragrance of the Knowledge of Christ) and children are introduced to the simple truths of God.
- Proceed to the nursery counter to sign in and fill out an information card.

A private and soundproof room for breastfeeding and/or crying children is located near the sanctuary. Contact a nursery worker for the location.
Philosophy of Nursery Ministry1
The church nursery at Calvary Baptist Church is an exciting and vital ministry as we nurture the faith of the next generation. It is a place of prayer for young children, a place where children learn simple truth statements as they form their language skills, and a place where they hear foundational Bible stories.1
Our nursery workers view themselves not only as childcare workers but also as prayer warriors and ministers to children. They see their chief functions as not only changing diapers but as sowing truth in the lives of these little ones. At Calvary Baptist Church, the nursery is seen as a place where kingdom business takes place. Psalm 139 tells us that God can work in the souls of our little children:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:13-16).
Our nursery ministry works to conscientiously “spread the fragrance of the knowledge” of Jesus Christ and trust God to use our simple efforts for the eternal joy of our children. Little by little, as children begin to understand words, they can understand and respond to the truth of the gospel.
To that end, the nursery is a ministry to the soul. It is participation in the work of God in a child’s soul.
Here are some of the simple truth statements that are sprinkled throughout conversation and modeled over and over during Nursery:
God is good.
God is big.
God is strong.
Jesus loves you.
We love Jesus.
Thank you, Jesus.
God made everything (the trees, birds, your nose, etc.).
God is with us.
God knows everything.
Jesus is my friend.
Jesus loves____(babies, children, boys, girls).
We need God.
