AWANA stands for
“Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Awana at Calvary is a fun and meaningful way for kids and parents to grow in their love and knowledge of God. Awana centers around a Wednesday evening club where kids play games, memorize Scripture, and are discipled by a trained, caring team of staff and volunteers. But the learning does not stop there. Throughout each week, kids and parents work together to learn and study the Bible. At Awana we have a lot of fun. Colorful books, enthusiastic games, and exciting awards make Calvary Baptist Awana a highlight of the week as kids learn truths from God’s Word that stick for a lifetime.

The following age groups are offered in our Awana program:

Cubbies – ages 4 (as of September 18) to 5 years old; all Cubbies must be potty trained
Please note that we are not able to include 3-year-old Cubbies this year
The Awana Cubbies Club uses stories, games, puppets, crafts, awards and creative activities to introduce God’s Word in a lively experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Sparks – Kindergarten (as of September 18) through 2nd grade
The Sparks Club takes children a step deeper into God’s Word. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at this level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Truth and Training (T&T) – 3rd through 6th grades
The name Truth & Training reflects the goal of Awana to teach third through sixth-grade boys and girls the deeper truths of God’s Word and to train them to follow Jesus Christ in their daily lives. Our hope and prayer is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s leaders in the Body of Christ.

2024-2025 Registration

Awana is held Wednesday nights, from 6:30-8:00pm, starting September 18, 2024 and concluding on May 7, 2025 for the Awards Ceremony. Club nights will not be held on the following dates:

• November 27 (Thanksgiving)
• December 18, 25, January 1 (Christmas)
• March 26 (Spring Break)
